Corporate History
Strataflo Products began in 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana as White Machine Works. From White Machine Works, the company changed its name to Strateflo. In 1945, the corporate name was once again changed to Strataflo due to a name conflict.
Strataflo Products was purchased by Lincoln Coders in April of 1998 and moved to Centennial Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana, becoming a division of Lincoln Coders. In January 2007, Strataflo Products emerged again as its own separate entity. The corporate office and manufacturing facility were then relocated to its current location at 2010 Lakeview Drive in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The first products manufactured were valves for submarines. Over the years, Strataflo has made yard hydrants, wall hydrants, well packers, check valves, foot valves, well adapters, and large screen baskets for ponds.
Currently, Strataflo valves are used around the world in many applications, including in oil fields, water wells, irrigation systems, fire trucks and commercial dishwashers. They are also used on bilge pumps and fuel lines in yachts, in hydraulic brake lines on trains, in commercial cookers, and as vacuum breakers.
Quality Assurance
We take a tremendous amount of pride in producing a quality product that exceeds the needs of our customers; and that all of our valves are 100% American-made of only quality components. Our valves are checked at different stages throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet our high standards. Once the valves have been machined and are ready for assembly, we run two tests that ensure a leak-proof valve:
- Test 1: After each casting is machined and checked dimensionally, it is placed under a combination of water and air pressure to test the body (casting) for leaks.
- Test 2: After the poppet assembly is installed in the valve, we "back-flow" the outlet side of the valve with water to ensure a leak-proof seal.
